David Mackenzie (director)

David Mackenzie (born 10 May 1966)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=David Mackenzie )〕 is a British film director. His brother is actor Alastair Mackenzie. He is an alumnus of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design.
==Career==
Mackenzie first came to prominence via the critically acclaimed ''Young Adam'' (2003), an adaptation of Alexander Trocchi's novel; the film was particularly noted for an explicit sex scene involving star Ewan McGregor and Emily Mortimer. This was followed by the less well received ''Asylum'' (2005), another period film.〔 His next directorial project was ''Hallam Foe'' (2007).
He made his Hollywood debut with ''Spread'' (2009). Afterwards, he returned to Scotland to direct ''Perfect Sense'' and ''You Instead'' (both 2011).〔
He is also a partner, with Gillian Berrie, in Sigma Films. As well as producing Mackenzie's own films, this company has produced other directors' pictures including Andrea Arnold's ''Red Road'' and Lars von Trier's ''Dogville'' as well as setting up the production and post-production facility Film City Glasgow.〔
